In partnership with Richmond Publishing and Highlights Magazine, Dai Truong Phat Education JSC is proud to host a seminar entitled “ENCOURAGING STUDENT ENGAGEMENT & PASSION FOR LEARNING” in Ho Chi Minh City. The aims of the seminar are to share the latest teaching methods in teaching learners at kindergarten, primary and secondary school levels and to assist local teachers and educators in becoming more effective in teaching and classroom management.
Phil Keegan (Mr)
Phil Keegan has worked in education for over 30 years. He is a teacher trainer, teacher and author based in Hanoi, Vietnam, having previously worked in the UK, the USA, France, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Malaysia, Slovenia and Korea. He is a tutor for the Cambridge CELTA and DELTA courses and he has published one book and many articles in teaching journals around the world.
An Nguyen (Ms)
Ms. An Nguyen holds a Master Degree in TESOL (University of Canberra). Since the beginning of her EFL teaching and teacher training career, An has focused on helping her students create and increase their intrinsic motivation in learning. She believes that students should be allowed to be as creative as possible in expressing themselves. She is a member of the Asian Creative Writing Group with a number of short stories and poems published. Through the activities of this group, she has gained a better insight of the importance of pracitising creative writing in class to motivate students and improve their learning and using the target language.
Stephen Faulkner (Mr)
Stephen Faulkner is Senior Training Coordinator for DTP. He has over 12 years of experience teaching students from very young learners to teenagers and adults. This experience has allowed him to gain a deep insight into the Vietnamese teaching context. It also gives him opportunities to apply different approaches and means to enhance his own teaching. Stephen strongly believes that learning English is about more than just learning the language and that developing other skills is also crucial.
Teress Nguyen (MS)
Teress Nguyen received her BA in English Linguistics and Literature from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2004 and her MA in TESOL from Irvine University, USA in 2009. She has 14 years of experience in teaching English language to all age ranges and levels at prestigious language centers, universities and companies across Ho Chi Minh City. Furthermore, she has been involved in teacher training for over 10 years with over 100 training workshops conducted in teaching methodology and techniques. She is a strong advocate of hands-on, sharing-based training that give workshop attendees practical experience as both teachers and learners.
